4th of July, 2008

Happy 4th of July!
We had such a fun and eventful 4th of July, just the way I like it! We started the day off with the parade and then had a BBQ with some friends and family and ended with fireworks. It does not get much better than that!
The girls had cute matching outfits for the day!! I don't know why but I love dressing them up for the 4th of July. Tess' shirt said Miss Independence and Lexi's said Little Sparkler. So Cute!

Notice how clean they are...it does not last long!

The gang (minus Annalysa) watching the parade. It was perfect weather and did not rain. I think it was in the low 70's!!! Pretty impressive for the 4th of July.

We got to the parade an hour early and had our pick of all the good spots. Next year we will get there half an hour early and still get a great spot. Tess loved that we had the van pulled up to the road and she could lounge in there. It was a little more comfortable than the ground. We need to buy some lawn chairs too, for next year!

Who you gonna call....Ghost Busters!!! Yup, in our parade! Even though it is a look alike hurts it was kinda cool.
Tess and Lexi had so much fun waving there flags at everyone and getting candy thrown at them. They came home with a grocery bag half full! Lexi was so concerned if she saw candy in the road that was not seen earlier. She made Michael venture out in the road to get some of them. The cars and horses would get them and she was so worried about it!

Lexi enjoying some of her candy!

Tess wanted to play music for everyone around us with a flute. Grammy Burns sent the girls cute bags full of 4th of July goodies. This really helped waste an hour before the parade started! Thank you Grammy! The ones sitting around us probably would not thank you :)

Bryan and the girls got temporary tattoos for the parade. They had so much fun that Bryan fell asleep toward the end of the parade!!! They all took a great nap that day!

After the nap and a BBQ we went to the fairgrounds to watch fireworks. We brought our own small fireworks to light off while we were waiting for the large ones. Tess got adventurous and tried sparklers. She loved it until one burnt her and now wants nothing to do with them. She was not burned bad luckily! She is still so sensitive to loud noises and it took her a while to warm up to the noise. Lexi loved the fireworks and the sparklers.

Some pictures of everyone watching the large fireworks. It was cold by this time and we were glad they did not last too long!

Lexi was a trooper by staying up until 11:30 that night. She loved the glow in the dark necklace and pretended it was a sparkler. She would say "wow, big" to every firework they would light off! Tess loved the large fireworks as well, they were all her favorite.
