I hate surprises

Okay, this post might be a lot of complaining. I gave you the heads up so you can get away if you are not in the mood! Last chance :)

I went to the doctor today for my 5 month checkup. I told my doc my sob story about not being able to find out the sex of the baby in the earlier medical ultrasound and he said "let's take a look and find out right now, no charge" I was pretty excited. I have the worst insurance out there and they will not cover my ultra sounds, even though I am labeled as high risk and the doctor labels it "necessary"!! That's a whole different topic. So we take a look, this is my 4th ultra sound since being pregnant. The first two were too early to be able to tell the sex of the baby. Guess what?? The umbilical cord is right in between the legs!!! All four of my ultra sounds the umbilical cord has been between the legs! I have a baby who wants to be a surprise. The only problem is how much I HATE surprises. We have planned on painting the babies room, getting a few more things for the room, etc. etc. Plus, if it is a boy...I have nothing! So after all is done with the appointment my doctor says he will mark the ultra sound necessary because of lack of movement...my insurance will not pay for that! My insurance would not pay for the ultra sound before this, labeled the same, when my doctor needed to check if the tearing had gotten any worse! So, I leave the doctors office without finding out the sex of the baby and a $275 bill coming toward me for the 30 second ultra sound. I think it is safe to say I am having a bad day. I think I need to give up on figuring out the sex of the baby and let it be a surprise, even though I hate surprises!

I thought your doctor said "no charge," but now you're waiting for a bill ... what gives?

I'm sorry you're having so many problems with ultrasounds. I hope your day gets better.

On the plus side, at least your doctor didn't strip your membranes only to result in tons of cramps and being very uncomfortable ... but no labor! :)

I am sorry that you are not in labor yet, you are in my prayers. I bet you have the baby tonight!!

Lexie was running away from me when I should have said no, you said no charge...if you bill it I have to pay! I am going to refuse the bill and be an awful patient!

Hey Denise, I'm so sorry about this mess. And, I hate insurance companies who won't pay for ultrasounds. That's rough--but I would hold the doctor to what he said--no charge. Sounds like he's just looking for extra money (how much more do they need anyway?). If all else, have Josh go after them! Hang in there...what a naughty baby. Make sure he gets a good spanking when he comes out! (Hmmm...I keep saying he, what does that mean?) LOVE YOU!!!

Hang in there! Some surprises can be fun. There is still time however to take a peak a few more times. Maybe this baby is trying to teach you a lesson in patience. Let's hope he or she isn't quite as stubborn when he or she comes out. In the mean time...I don't know. Just hang in there.
