We had such a fun Easter this year. Both girls are old enough to understand what is going on and get excited about all the fun. We did Easter egg dying Friday night and the Easter bunny and the egg hunts were on Saturday. Sunday we tried to educate the girls in the reason we celebrate. Thank goodness for primary, Tess gets it! Joshua also played a hym melody in sacrament meeting and did such a good job. I wish he would do it more often, he has such great talent! I will have to Secretly record him playing to post for you all. He is shy about his talent.
The girls had fun dying the eggs and making a mess. Yes, I make my kids strip down when dying eggs. I thought about changing them into old t-shirts but it was more work. Sorry for the shirtless shots!
After dying the eggs we did a trial Easter egg hunt to show Alexa how it is done. She caught on real fast and also discovered the chocolate in the eggs in record time. Tess loved teaching Lexi all her tricks.

Lexi discovering the eggs are full of candy!
Easter morning the girls checking out what the Easter Bunny left for them. They were so excited about socks! Lexi loved the magnetic fishing pole and fish and the giant egg full of candy. Noticing a trend with Lexi and her love of candy? Tess is still amazed that the Easter Bunny formed chalk into egg shapes. "he must be magic" is her reply.
Saturday morning we woke up ready to hunt some eggs. We started off at an easier egg hunt in the parking lot of Albertson's grocery store. The kids had a blast and both filled there baskets.
We later went to an ester egg hunt I thought was more difficult and a little larger...I was wrong. Poor Tess had it in her head that the second egg hunt was more for older kids and the first was to help Lexi hunt for easy eggs. The second was the same size as the first but eight times as crowded. The egg hunt lasted maybe one minute and all the eggs were gone. Tess ended up with three eggs and Lexi with one! I did not feel too bad though because we had another egg hunt at Nana and Grandpa Hollinger's house the next day. If you count the egg hunt in our house that is four total!
